Compliance Surveys
VA conducts Compliance Surveys at each school approximately every three years.

The purpose of the Compliance Survey is to prevent deficiencies and violations and to identify and correct them when they are found.

During the Compliance Survey, a VA representative reviews the school's records to ensure that the school is adhering to all regulations required by the federal government in regard to education benefits.

VA reviews a random sampling of student files to verify that the school is providing accurate certification information and reporting reductions and terminations. VA also conducts an exit briefing with the SCO to review findings and discuss any discrepancies.

VA then provides a follow-up letter to the school to identify specific discrepancies or problems, if any, that were identified during the Compliance Survey. You may need to respond to this letter within 30 days.
